ETHORVE: Rethinking Social Media

What if social media was designed around people, not algorithms?

Most of us grew up with social media.

Facebook. Instagram. TikTok. YouTube. Snapchat.

They have changed how we communicate, discover things, share our lives and stay connected. They have also created opportunities for creators, businesses and communities that would have been difficult to imagine before.

These platforms have millions, even billions of users, and building technology at that scale is an incredible achievement.

But there is another question worth asking:

What should social media look like if we put privacy, meaningful connections and people first?

That is where ETHORVE comes in.

So, What Is ETHORVE?

ETHORVE is a social platform created by ONEORVE with a simple idea:

Social media should be a place where people connect, not a place where people feel like they are constantly being watched, measured or influenced.

ETHORVE is being built around privacy, genuine connections and meaningful interaction.

It is not about trying to become the next Facebook or TikTok.

It is about exploring whether we can build social technology differently.

Why Do We Need Something Different?

Think about what happens when you use a social media app.

You watch a video.

You like a post.

You follow someone.

You search for something.

You stop watching one video after two seconds but watch another for two minutes.

To you, these may seem like small actions.

But together, they can tell a platform a lot about what interests you.

Recommendation systems are designed to learn from these signals so they can predict what content you might want to see next. TikTok, for example, explains that its recommendations can use signals such as what you watch, like, share, comment on or skip, as well as information such as device settings and location.

Meta similarly uses AI-powered recommendation systems to decide which content may be relevant to people on Facebook and Instagram.

There is nothing automatically wrong with this.

In fact, it can make social media more interesting and useful.

The question is:

How much of our digital behaviour should be used to decide what we see?

And perhaps an even bigger question:

Should social media always be trying to predict what we will do next?

ETHORVE starts from a different philosophy.

You Are More Than Your Data

Imagine meeting a new friend at school.

You wouldn't expect that person to secretly record everything you do, analyse how long you look at something, keep a detailed profile of your interests and then use that information to decide what they should show you next.

But online, data can become part of how digital services work.

This is one reason privacy matters.

Your online activity can reveal surprisingly personal things — your interests, habits, relationships, preferences and sometimes even things you never intentionally shared.

ETHORVE is built with the belief that people should have greater control over their digital identity and information.

Privacy should not be something hidden inside complicated settings that you only discover after creating an account.

It should be part of the design from the beginning.

ETHORVE Is Not About Saying the Others Are Bad

This is important.

ETHORVE does not exist because Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or other platforms are "bad."

They have built impressive technologies and connected people across the world.

They also provide privacy and safety controls, and they continue to introduce new measures to protect younger users. Meta, for example, announced new teen protections in 2026, including usage limits, reduced notifications and an option for teens to use a non-personalised feed.

Different platforms simply make different choices.

Large mainstream platforms have built sophisticated recommendation systems because helping people discover content is an important part of their experience. TikTok openly explains that its recommendation system learns from user interactions to personalise what appears in feeds.

ETHORVE asks:

What happens if we start with privacy and human connection as the foundation instead?

A Different Kind of Social Experience

Imagine opening a social platform where the goal isn't to keep you scrolling for as long as possible.

Where you don't have to constantly compare your life with everyone else's.

Where your worth isn't measured by the number of likes or followers you have.

Where you can connect with people because you actually know them, share an interest with them or want to be part of a community.

Where technology supports your relationships instead of trying to become the centre of them.

That is the direction ETHORVE is exploring.

Less noise. More connection.

Less profiling. More privacy.

Less pressure. More choice.

What Makes ETHORVE Different?

ETHORVE is being built around several principles.

🔐 Privacy by Design

Privacy should not be an afterthought.

We want privacy considerations to be part of how ETHORVE is designed from the beginning — limiting unnecessary data collection and giving people greater control over their information.

👥 Real Connections

Social media should be about people.

ETHORVE focuses on communities, relationships and meaningful interaction rather than simply maximising numbers.

🧠 Less Algorithmic Influence

Algorithms can be useful. But we believe people should have more control over what they see.

ETHORVE explores a social experience where technology doesn't have to constantly decide what deserves your attention.

🫶 A Healthier Digital Space

Social media can be fun, creative and educational.

But it can also become overwhelming.

ETHORVE aims to create a space that encourages people to connect without making endless scrolling the main objective.

🌱 Built With Purpose

ETHORVE is part of ONEORVE's broader vision of using technology to create positive social impact.

The goal isn't simply to build another platform.

It is to explore what responsible social technology could look like.

Is ETHORVE Completely Safe?

No platform can honestly promise that.

The internet is made up of people, and wherever people interact, there will always be risks.

There can be scams, fake accounts, inappropriate behaviour, cyber threats, bullying and people who misuse technology.

ETHORVE cannot eliminate every risk.

What we can do is design responsibly, minimise unnecessary data collection, build appropriate safeguards and continuously improve the platform.

Safety is not a feature that you switch on.

It is an ongoing responsibility.

Why Should Young People Care About Privacy?

You might think:

"I'm only 16. Why would anyone care about my data?"

The answer is simple.

Because your digital identity can follow you for a very long time.

The things you post today can become part of your digital history.

Your interests can change.

Your opinions can change.

You will grow, learn and become a different person.

You deserve the opportunity to grow without every digital action becoming part of a permanent profile of who you are.

Privacy isn't about having something to hide.

Privacy is about having something to protect: yourself.

Social Media Should Work for You

Technology is powerful.

But powerful technology should give people more choices, not fewer.

We don't believe young people should have to choose between being connected and protecting their privacy.

We believe they should be able to have both.

ETHORVE is still evolving. It won't have all the answers, and it won't try to pretend that it does.

It is an experiment in building something differently.

A social platform where people come before data, connection comes before engagement, and purpose comes before profit.

Because perhaps the future of social media isn't about building bigger platforms.

Perhaps it is about building better ones.

This is ETHORVE.

Social media, reimagined around people.

Connect. Share. Belong. With privacy at the heart of it.
